Well, the days of the baby countdown are over and so begins a new adventure... Congratulations to Lucy and Paul on your beautiful little girl! Yes, the little angel finally arrived (via stork airways... though they had quite a bit of turbulence along the way) on Valentines day, there's one birthday I won't be forgetting. It's nice to be able to say 'her' and 'she' and actually give her a name as the whole 'it' thing was becoming uncomfortable. Good thing I didn't lay that bet on 'it' being a boy! As usual, email me your messages for Lucy and Paul and I'll get them up asap!

A message for daddy, mummy and wee bairn: I have come to realise after all these years that a paradox is the most precious thing. I will now turn to two great philosophers now because I am sure that this run of stringing a couple of sentences together will come to an abrupt halt. "According to Aristotle, a child does not begin to laugh before the fortieth day after his birth; only from that moment does it become a human being." According to Moz, "I've seen you smile, but I've never really heard you laugh, so who is rich and who is poor? I cannot say." The point then is that there are at least two important things in life and they are laughing and Morrissey (and that's not laughing at Morrissey by the way) and perhaps gravity....and Slayer....but these are all the ingredients needed to become the greatest of assets to the human race. I myself could have been someone, but I missed out on the laughter thing, and instead I'm a bum, but never mind. dear bump. soon u will be a baby and thats when u have the chance to meet lots of people who cant wait to see your little face. we all think about u every day and lots of things have been happening just so that we are ready when u get here. u have the best parents anyone could ever wish for and you can always count on having someone there to give you time. you are a very lucky and special baby. take care now, Gemma x
